World-leading stairlift manufacturer Stannah will this year celebrate its 40th anniversary in the stairlift market.
Since then it has sold over 500,000 and established a reputation for making the world's most reliable and safe stairlifts.
The company now employs 1,700 people worldwide, exports to over 40 countries and has 9 subsidiaries.
Stannah is celebrating this momentous occasion through a series of special events that will be revealed to staff, customers and the public throughout the year.
Prior to moving into the stairlift market Stannah was primarily a commercial lift business. It was founded in 1867 by Joseph Stannah to create hoists to help move ship's cargo and has been innovating with new lift products ever since. Today the company produces both commercial lifts and stairlifts.
Patrick Stannah, managing director of Stannah Stairlifts, said:
"Reaching our 40th year in the stairlift market is a proud moment for everybody at Stannah. Our success in this market is down to our dedicated and hardworking staff and we look forward to celebrating our success together throughout the year.
"My father first entered the stairlift business during a recession, when the passenger lift market was contracting, and since then it has gone from strength to strength.
"Today we stay true to the values that helped us grow our stairlift business in a challenging climate, ensuring that customer satisfaction is at the very heart of our products and the service we offer."
