The Stannah Group has become the first national company to be made a member of the ‘Buy with Confidence’ scheme, in recognition of the Andover business’ fair and honest working ethics.
British, family-run manufacturer Stannah joins a list of local businesses from gardeners to builders, all of which have been checked for trustworthiness and compliance with consumer protection laws.
The Buy With Confidence scheme, which was launched by Hampshire County Council Trading Standards Service in 1999, provides consumers with a list of local businesses who have taken a commitment to trading fairly, and is the largest scheme of its kind in the UK. Being part of it will help people with disabilities source mobility equipment safe in the knowledge that the service provided will be reliable and good quality.
The provision of reliable and safe mobility aids remains an important issue with the publication of the Office of Fair Trading’s market study, highlighting consumers’ concerns and how these should be tackled.
On joining the scheme, Patrick Stannah, joint managing director of Stannah Lift Services, said: “We are delighted to join the scheme. We are proud of the fact that we are an independent, family-run business five generations on, and of the strong values that guide us. Our membership reinforces Stannah’s commitment to providing a service that customers can rely on and raising standards in the stairlift industry.”
Stannah is also a member of UK professional industry bodies, the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and the Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA), reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing a high quality and reliable service for their customers.
