Stannah celebrates two major milestones: 1,000,000 stairlifts produced and opening of new factory in Andover

Stannah, a family-run business with a global presence, operating in 13 countries and with nearly 160 years of dedication to quality, safety and innovation, is proud to announce a double celebration taking place on 10 October 2024. The company has produced its one millionth stairlift, a momentous achievement in its mission to improve independence and change people’s lives for the better across the globe. In addition, Stannah will officially open its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Pioneer Road located at the Andover Business Park.

Andover Town Mayor Heather Neate has been given the honour of cutting the ribbon at the new factory. Having the Mayor lead the ribbon-cutting reflects the deep connection between Stannah and the local community, where the business has thrived for 50 years. Stannah's longstanding presence in Andover has been a significant contribution to the local economy, creating jobs and supporting the community while remaining committed to improving lives globally.

At 90,000 sq. ft., the Pioneer Road factory represents a significant investment in Stannah’s future and its commitment to long-term growth, creating the facilities to support its next-generation solutions and employment in the Andover area.

The factory's design incorporates sustainable features such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting and high-performance insulation, reducing its environmental impact. The facility will significantly boost the company’s production capacity, providing room for future expansion, ensuring that Stannah remains well-positioned to continue its legacy of advancements in the stairlift and homelift industry and meet the needs of a growing customer base.

As Stannah prepares for yet more growth, they have hit another incredible milestone. Since the introduction of the Stannah stairlift in 1975 by Brian and Alan Stannah MBE, now chairmen of the business, the company has improved the lives of over a million people worldwide, helping them stay safe and independent in their own homes.

Not only a technological and manufacturing triumph, the production of 1,000,000 stairlifts is also a testament to the hard work and dedication of Stannah employees across the world. From engineers and factory teams to procurement, finance, IT, sales, marketing, installation, customer facing teams and service professionals, every member of the Stannah family has contributed to this remarkable milestone.
